The English Vowel Sounds
There are 5 vowel sounds in Spanish and 8 in Catalan. In English there are 12 and some of them do not exactly coincide with our Catalan sounds. To illustrate the English vowel sounds we use the following diagram:
The idea is to put this diagram inside the mouth of a profile to see the position of the tongue inside the mouth when a vowel sound is pronounced.

Minimal Pairs to Repeat
There are several pairs of example words for you to repeat. Only one sound is different in each pair. That's why they are called MINIMAL PAIRS.
